I've been sitting in the living room upstairs, available to pass out sugary-sweets to the little cuties that knock on the door. It's warmer downstairs! But, the kiddos are cute and so I should hang out longer so I can contribute to the sugar addiction that makes our country as great as it is.
Today, G tried to get me up to go running again, and I said no. It was so warm in my bed (although, I did wake up at 4:30 am because I was too cold) and I am a lazy bastard. That's really all there is to it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do this weekend when I'm expected to run a mile every day at 10,000 ft elevation.
As previously mentioned, I finally got exchange working on Sauron, and today I made Ugluk the back up domain controller and added Saruman to the domain. We're supposed to be getting rid of Saruman soon, but for now, we're keeping him on. The plan is to build three new, powerful servers - and then use the current machines that we're using for servers for the geek's machines. That'd be Gandalf, Sauron (our most powerful machine), and the pbx...maybe. The research I've done leads me to believe that we could have three very powerful rack mounted servers (our current best are not rack mounted, even though we have a beautiful rack to mount them in) for under $300 apiece. Wahoo!
I also installed other programs on saruman, like spybot and adaware, firefox and some DVD software, etc.
Wow, that was a very geeky moment.

So now I need to work again on two current web projects. The new platform we're using has been enjoyable (I've been able to teach myself how to use it very quickly) and, Jim R has been very helpful in getting everything set up. We still need to develop a user-created forms module, but overall it seems that we have the tools we need. Yay for open source!!
I think I need to make myself some tea. I'm still cold. Looks like the trick-or-treaters have slowed down a bit. I suppose 7:00 is just too late for some.
;P
Oh, something else I forgot. The date on Sauron was incorrect, and it kept changing the date on my laptop, which is now part of the domain. It was fucking me up all day until I figured out what happened. Changing the system date worked, but I also had to remove all machines and users from the previous domain (which I thought had vanished when both domain controller were demoted...but, apparently not) because it was causing another error in regard to the date. Confused? Yah, sorry. So was I.
Alright, now I need to do some work.

After eight months of not having a shared calendar with A, we now have
exchange up and running. I haven't joined A's computer up to the domain
yet, but that's easy enough now. I am so excited that I'm now done with
the server build. Yay!!!
We recently decided on a new web platform to use for our client sites. Drupal rocks! It's so much easier to use than plone/zope, it's crazy. Check out our demo site if you'd like to see what it's like!
I'm excited to be getting things done. Productive days are just awesome.
The piercing is doing well. I was struggling a bit last night, dealing with having actually piercing my face...but I like it. It's growing on me.
A and I are going soon to eat lunch at this great restaurant called "Huckleberry Cafe." It's a cool place with creative veggie dishes.
I hate when customers don't pay their invoices on time. Makes it hard to pay bills when you don't have the cash. (sigh)
I did the stupidist thing yesterday with our quarterly tax payment. I've been thinking for three weeks that we somehow didn't put aside enough for the payment. My mistake was in adding the federal witholding to the social security and medicaid amounts, which you do later in the return. Dumb f***ing mistake. Problem is, I made the larger payment already, before I discovered my error. So now I'm hoping that requesting a refund of the overpayment will not be a huge problem. ACK! Crazy taxes.
Alright, off to other things!

I have the weirdest life.
This afternoon, Brenda, (aaronseeker's girlfriend) used our kitchen to shoot some internet comedy scene. I don't quite understand exactly what was happening, but it involved such tasty snacks as celery and toothpaste. (crazy office assistant making snacks for an office party)
Right now I'm working on building the new windows server. I have to rebuild the windows domain, etc. All new stuff for me, but it's going well so far.
I think I might go this afternoon to get my nose pierced. I keep saying that, but haven't yet.
Speaking of noses, A and I were in traffic this morning and saw a man in a truck next to us picking his nose AND EATING IT! How can you do that as an adult? Oh my godddd...

Last night, I went to Red Robin with A and
aaronseeker.
It's A's birthday tomorrow, and he got a free burger from RR. Part of
the conversation included random politics, vegetarianism (I think we
converted the waiter, who was cute in an open-to-the-world sort of
way), song titles and frequent comments about me flashing my breasts.
(Which, for the record, I've never done in a restaurant. Red rocks,
yes. Bars, yes. Never a restaurant) I think a good time was had by all.
A and I were just doing research on silver fish in Wikipedia. Have I said what a fan of that site I am? Did you know that silver fish live from 2 to 8 years, and can be trapped with a grated potato? Apparently, we have at least two living in our downstairs bathroom.
So I have decided to become a mentor for Colorado Youth at Risk. The program works with 9th graders who have been identified for at risk for dropping out, and who choose to be in the program. I'm really excited to be participating in an organization that empowers young people. And, I get to go to camp!!!!!!!
Today, I have to build a windows server with the new machine I build last week. I've never done that before, so it'll be an interesting experience. Wish me luck.
Last night, A and I played Zelda again from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am. I finally made it through the 6th level...damn Wizzrobes kick my ass, and the shield stealing pancake stack ottoman (I think they're called likelike's, or something like that) kept getting on top of me. Anyway, I cleared that level and then levels 7 and 8, which were much easier. I must say, I would have given up on the game so much sooner had I not had the cheating hints to be found online. Perhaps that makes me less of a gamer, but I enjoyed it, nonetheless. I stopped after the 8th level...does anyone know a way to stop and save the game without having to commit suicide? Silly question, but it would be great to know. It's not like I can't fill up my hearts at a fairy fountain, but still.
I'm going to lay off the gaming for a while since I now have a customer project to manage and do most of the work on, and we need a couple more sales to come in the door this month. After that, I'm going to get the last triforce. Yay!!
