In Victoria

Traveling
In  Victoria, BC. Fun to hear the boats drone as they leave the harbor. Had an amazing dinner last night at a vegan buffet. Watched a very cheesy movie, then slept very happily in a real bed for the first time in three nights. Happy to not be cold.

The trip out here was wrought with trouble. We ran out of gas in the middle-of-nowhere Wyoming, 30 miles from any town. It was 10 degrees below zero. Took us two hours to get to town, get gas and then get back. The guy (John) who gave us a ride back was quite lovely. A burner since 1999, he has a camp called Gypsy Nomads that helps care for virgin solo females at BRC for their first time. I may join them.

We've had other car trouble, but we're fine now. Also realized that we left our passports in Colorado, and are having them mailed to Vancouver, so we can surely get back into the US.

It's fun to be traveling again. A and I have done it so much that we have a nice routine when traveling...less a routine, more a sense of the flow that works. He's showering right now and I'm checking e-mail (and lj) before we head out into Victoria. Tomorrow we go to Vancouver, then on to Seattle.
